About ‘IF ONLY MAMA KNEW’
IF ONLY MAMA KNEW tells the heart-breaking stories of 10 young teenagers lost to drug abuse and crime — and mothers who discovered the truth too late. This deeply emotional film was born from tears. From conversations with mothers who said — ‘If only I knew…’.
The film confronts emotional distance between parents and children and the silence that destroys families, sending one urgent message: “Early awareness saves lives.”
This is not just a movie. It is a cry to Nigerian mothers, a call to action and a national awakening for mothers.
“Some children can still be saved… if only Mama knows on time.”
WHY THIS FILM?
Nigeria is facing a growing crisis: rising teenage crime and drug abuse, increasing cultism in schools, youth involvement in cybercrime and emotional depression among teenagers and many mothers say: “I never knew my child was involved…”
This film exists to ensure fewer mothers say those words again.
The Council of Nigerian Mothers (CONIM) is a national movement birthed from the urgency to start conversations, bring mothers back to the center of early detection and prevent regret before it happens. It is a national movement dedicated to restoring the power, voice, and influence of Nigerian mothers in child protection.
CONIM believes that the home is the first school and mothers are the first teachers; and is thus set to raise a generation of vigilant, informed, and empowered Nigerian mothers who can detect danger early and protect their children from death and societal decay.
THE NATIONAL CAMPAIGN
The National Showing of IF ONLY MAMA KNEW will hold on June 12, 2026, and it is aimed at bringing together Ten Million Mothers to watch the film on their mobile phones and in their homes with their children under the theme: “Never Again.”
